Hey, Big Spender
Your first year out of a marriage can also spell financial disaster if don’t control the plastic. It’s easy to go coo coo for Jimmy Choo or bananas over Blahnik, but you might find yourself dressed up with nowhere to go (trust me, I’ve been there).
It’s important to feel good about yourself at this time, but you’ll only find temporary satisfaction from a shoe or new handbag. So take it easy.
Instead of spending time and money at the mall, slowly put the word and the resume out (September is Update Your Resume month – how convenient!).
First and foremost work on yourself. That’s the best investment you can make your first year of divorce.
